A Tasteful Halloween

A Tasteful Halloween

While some minds instantly go to pumpkins, we like to take a more contemporary approach to Halloween. At Maxit Flower Design, Halloween is nestled at the height of the wedding season. This offers a nice break from our typical floral designs.

Ditch the trick-or-treating for a dinner party. Event design is our second passion (after flowers, of course). Between the linens, invitations, and more, so much can be personalized to make your event unique.

A moody tablescape draped with colored ferns, red garden roses, and babies breath waiting to haunt guests on this Halloween night. There is so much more to Halloween than orange.

What allows for a tablescape like this to come together requires the right amount of layering. We love the softness and texture that colored fern brings to the table arrangement. Deep red garden roses are extremely moody in this instance and bring the drama necessary for Halloween.

A Halloween cauldron is this year’s favorite arrangement. When the client has a awesome vessel, you use it! Anyone who comes to us, and would like to bring their own vase or vessels we are happy to oblige.

Our idea of Halloween decor is a traditional cauldron bubbling over with high-quality flowers. Adding additional pieces like candles and figurines across the tablescape enables the guest’s eyes to travel throughout the space.

What’s spookier then finding out the future? We’re not sure. However, this tablescape is one for the books. Deep reds are our favorite tone to use for Halloween floral arrangements. Could you imagine this in your home next season?

Every year we look forward to holidays like this to spark our creativity. This is our opportunity to use particular floral varieties we may not use in a wedding setting. Whether it is a private holiday party or a corporate holiday party, Maxit can make your vision come to life.

A corporate, yet contemporary Halloween dinner party to offset the event we had at the other client’s home. We love working with both private, and corporate clients for this exact juxtaposition.

Candle layering is crucial in creating a tablescape. We love to incorporate both taper and pillar candles create a full look. The idea is to have candles at different heights.

Prada Flower Bar

Prada Flower Bar

Prada or nada? We’ll choose Prada time after time. However, this time Prada chose us. Specialty events (not including weddings) have a special place in Maxit Flower Design’s heart, and this event is no exception.

We had the honor of participating in an exclusive shopping event hosted at the Prada store located in Houston, TX. We hosted a custom floral bar studded with flowers coordinating Prada’s newest collection. Guests were able to mix and mingle around the store to shop and also stop by our bar to create a one-of-a-kind arrangement to take home.

Maxit Designers, Ally and Elizabeth, were on-site to assist with creation. Ally said, ”this is one of my most memorable events here at Maxit,” with Elizabeth chiming in, “It was great to interact with so many different customers!”

Biweekly Deliveries with Zimmermann

Other than at a wedding, pops of Maxit Flower Design can be found nestled within the River Oaks District. We have the great pleasure of adding Zimmermann to our biweekly delivery schedule.

Biweekly or weekly deliveries is a service we developed for corporate clients to add their brands’ overall aesthetic in a creative, thought-provoking way. The creative brief and delivery details are discussed through a series of meetings to ensure a seamless process of driving marketing initiatives for your company.

This relationship with Zimmermann was developed through their grand opening in the Summer of 2022. Ever since, Maxit has been tasked with designing floral installations for the storefront and within the space. Fashion is often an inspiration for us, so this is a partnership that just made sense.

The creative brief here is slightly different from most of our client requests. The focus here? Foliage. Great winding, wild vegetation with substantial architectural interest to fill the space. Always fresh, never dried product.

We take foraging very seriously, as we do it by hand here in the studio. We have found that specializing in more than just flowers pays off– big. We’re lucky to have a large variety of trees and plants surrounding our studio in Houston Heights. Mexican sycamore, Curly Willow, and Kangaroo Paw are just a few varieties we like to use in this circumstance.

Mexican Sycamore Branches is the perfect tree to use in this situation due to its large leaves.

We love the aesthetic Maxit Flower Design brings into this space. The natural greenery makes for a beautiful backdrop for such unique clothing pieces.
— Katherine, Zimmermann Store Manager

We look forward to the rest of the holiday season with Zimmermann as we bring floral and foliage designs into their store.

It’s 20 years of building trust curating gatherings with taste that Houstonians of distinction have to come expect , a whole reboot for Belle Events with new Owner Rebecca Martin taking the reigns to further extend their signature classic event gatherings to a whole new generation not just brides but- business owners- to corporate clients handling all aspects of full service planning.

Our flowers are here for it!

It wasn’t just the vision guided by Belle Events team member Shannon collaborating over the floral and tablescape details for this celebration that made it such a joy - but we also had a little help getting inspired with some bubbles .

Perrier Jouet champagne titled “Belle Epoque” was chosen as a table accessory but also who really needs a reason - because it’s always a good time to pop some champagne!

Maxit Flower Design is known for our garden style of florals which is the epitome of the classic ballrooms of Texas not to mention a great visual partner for Belle Events clients. More recently we have enjoyed designing for private ranches and homes creating eye catching installations that add an unexpected element to gatherings. This climbing ground installation (pictured above) is a great way to end cap tables and carry a garden growth theme through your event while wowing your guests.

We love edgy Houstonians who enjoy European aesthetics - love to push the envelope with color palettes and have fun with marrying the classic details that ground an event with taste but also allow for a certain playful “je ne sais quoi".

For this 20th anniversary and rebrand we created a tablescape with textured foliage in a classic pink mauve palette- but- we turned up the saturation on the accent color bold and jammy against a damask two-toned table linen, gold cutlery accents and depression faceted green glass candy dishes with other objects along the table marrying the lush southern ferns and smilax into the design plan.

What we love about working with Belle Events is the level of gorgeous we are able to go after for a client regardless of the style preferences or size of their event. It is always a treasured partnership to have colleagues that understand luxury is literally a joy!

Here’s to 20 more years and creating lovely together. We can’t wait to see more of these ladies and more of 2021 bringing back celebrations to a larger audience, even if our number is smaller and the spaces we curate are a little down sized beauty never goes out of style.

Cheers!

Houston’s Revaire played the modern industrial stage for this garden style rubies upon garnets wedding for Kyndall & Josh.

One of many design elements that were so fun for our team to attack included a freestanding classic garden arch paired with an extremely modern white stage giving the visual juxtaposition of free floating garden structure in the middle of geometric clean crisp backdrop.

The color scheme was nothing short of stunning with deep crimson, garnet reds on full display with an array of garden roses and peonies - pops of pink topaz and champagne tones from one of our favorite rose varietals quicksand- accents of deep emerald smilax vine and wispy textured tones of sage from stuartiana eucalyptus.

We created a lush “garland” which for Maxit means a table dressing completely packed full of florals to create a dimensional table runner with moments of high low, hidden and unexpected -one would find in a flower bed. The long feasting tables were off set with more intimate rounds crowned with our showy signature compotes chalked full of blooms sent flying and tucked low.

Our couple and guest spent the night dancing to live music under a canopy of smilax vines with delicate orb candles dancing over their heads.
