this past weekend

On occasion we get the kind of bride that completely, fully, no questions asked... trusts us.  This past weekend was one of them.  She gave us budget, gave us her inspirations and allowed us to run with it.  I truly believe this is the best way to create a wedding.

She allowed us to use this rock star ribbon!! I just can't wait to see what the professional images look like, and to see her holding this bad boy.  Ya'll, her dress was amazing, one of the most original, high-fashion designs I have seen. This bouquet was just the perfect match!

Here are some images of the bridal bouquet I got to snap right before we delivered it.

one wedding two installations

Yesterday we were lucky enough to be able to install two different small installations for one of our amazing 2015 brides.  I love installing flower arrangements! This gives us the opportunity to bring flowers to a venue and create the arrangement right on sight.  When enough time for setup is offered, I prefer going this route.

Of course we can not possibly create everything on site, but the photos bellow will show you two simple installations that I thought were very appropriate for the occasion.  The first one was a long garland.  I knew that the table size was still being decided and therefor I did not want to create something before hand and create something that was too big or too small for the table.  My intuition served me well.  The tables that were originally set did not work with the linens and needed to be switched  a couple hours before our event.

And the last image was something a little less tricky but the vases were provided by the venue and they did not permit water to be added.  So the flowers needed to sit in water as long as possible until the event.  Everything worked out perfectly... take a look at what we created!

these flowers!

How gorgeous are these flowers! This weekend's bride has impeccable taste and we are bursting at the seems to see all this gorgeousness come to life.  After processing most of the flowers yesterday, I began to fall in love with these beauties.  The quality is just insane! We couldn't feel more lucky to have found some of the most amazing, hard working flower brokers in Houston.  They truly take care of us and I couldn't be more grateful for everything they do for us.

through their eyes

I got a little surprise posted on our Facebook page the other day. Kayla an awesome past bride of ours sent me this pic.  It's clearly not a professional one, but someone that was just admiring our work.  Which I have to admit I might love it that much more because someone wasn't paid to take it, but someone was just caught in the moment of enjoying  the flower and felt so inspired to capture them.  And after all... isn't that moment what it is ALL about?

Thank you Kayla for taking a little time out of your day to share this with us.

new camera new pics

Today we had the pleasure of meeting with one of our spring brides for a quick meeting to show her a mock up for her wedding.  I love creating these as you see the client's face light up, their vision is coming to reality and you can tell that's one of the moments it hits them.  This bride is creating a very fun look with a variety of different element in an outdoor space.  Her colors are turquoise, blush gold and white.

I must admit that there is a little bit of anxiety that comes with a mock-up, as this is the first time you are showing your work to your client.  You are showing that everything you've discussed has been understood.  There is a sense of vulnerability that only an artist can understand.  It's almost as if you are giving your first big speech in your High-School Speech class.  You've poured your heart out and now the pause... a little bit of silence... and then you wait for the critique.

So... she loved them! Our mock-up was a success.
