There are very few websites/blogs that I am truly in love with and check every single day.  Botanical Brouhaha is one of them.  Amy McGee has creating a safe haven where us floral designers (from around the world) can come enjoy other fellow designers work, educate ourselves and ask questions only relevant to our industry.  I have been following her since she began this blog, maybe because it fell almost exactly when I first started my business, but non the less it has become a necessary resource and slight addiction.

Wedding Sparrow gave us the biggest complement of the year!!! We got listed under the 25 Best Wedding Bouquets for the Fine Art Bride!!! Eek. in the new year

I couldn't be more excited about some new personal projects I have set out for the coming year.  Small ones but ones that will add a lot more creativity and excitement for me and get those creative juices flowing! The first one, SKETCHING! Yes! One of my favorite pass times that I have neglected for way to long.  It can truly be so meditative and relaxing it is shocking I have not sought it out more often.  Here's a little something I worked on yesterday, on the first day of this fun adventure.

The other fun project, is photography.  After purchasing a fancy camera this summer and setting it aside without any further attention or courses to help practice.  I finally decided it was time to learn and fully enjoy the amazing creative outlet.  I guess this is what happens when you can actually take some time off to yourself!  I couldn't be more excited to get these two fun projects going.  What are your fun projects for 2015?

Well lookie there... we spy some of our floral designs in the newly released local magazine, Houston Bride's Magazine.  We couldn't be more honored to be part of this lovely local publication one more time.  Thank you to all had part in showing my work to our lovely Houston brides!

Florals we provided for a photo shoot we did this past spring with Ashley at Two be Wed.

Christina from Pomp & Circumstance had a two page Q & A feature and was kind enough to add a photo shoot that we worked on at the end of the summer.

fresh winter colors

Ever wonder how to incorporate winter colors to your event without doing the typically all too seen color schemes; red/white/green or the white/silver?  Well we created a design board to help your creative juices flowing.  After yesterday's photo shoot, we got inspired!! Combining natures winter colors of browns with neutrals, gold and blush can help keep it fresh, light and still in season.

Our trick to combining these browns and neutrals in the florals was to bring in magnolia leaves, christmas bush, and wild grasses. We added a blush Quicksand rose and many other textures to compliment those colors, but tried to stay as neutral as possible.  The muted colors of winter can be accented with gold containers, candles, and dish wear to bring a more sophisticated tone.

Thanks to Candice from Lots of Lovely and Alicia Pyne from Alicia Pyne Photography  for reaching out to me to provide the florals for the shoot.  These were their inspiration and was more than happy to make this come to life.  I can't to see the images as everything was absolutely gorgeous.
